Mamamoo (Hangul: 마마무), most often stylized as MAMAMOO, is a South Korean girl group that is formed by RBW (formerly WA Entertainment) in 2014. The group officially debuted on June 18, 2014, with the debut single "Mr. Ambiguous" which was title track of their extended play Hello, which also featuring Hwasa's song I Do Me.
Their current comeback is AYA and the extended play TRAVEL, both were released on November 3, 2020 at 6 PM KST.
Career[]
2014[]
MAMAMOO collaborated with Bumkey and made Don't Be Happy, which was released on January 8. On February 11, they collaborated with K.Will and made Peppermint Chocolate, featuring Wheesung. On May 30, 2014, they released Heeheehaheho with rap duo Geeks.
MAMAMOO finally made their official debut on June 18, with the single Mr. Ambiguous and the extended play Hello. Hwasa released her first solos in the Hello Album, known as I Do Me. On November 21, they released the extended play Piano Man and the single Piano Man.
2015[]
MAMAMOO released Ahh Oop! on April 2, a collaboration with Esna. On June 19, they released the extended play Pink Funky, which included Ahh Oop!, and the single Um Oh Ah Yeh.
On August 23, they held their first fan meeting named "1st Moo Party".
2016[]
MAMAMOO held their first concert called "MAMAMOO Concert Moosical" on August 13 to 14. I Miss You and Taller than You were released on January 26 and February 12 respectively. Both were included in MAMAMOO's first studio album Melting, and the single You're the Best was the title track of it (February 26).
On August 31, they released the sub-unit singles Angel and DAB DAB. They released New York on September 21, and the three previously mentioned singles were included in their extended play Memory (November 7). Décalcomanie was the title track of the EP.
2017[]
On March 3 to 5, and August 19 to 20, MAMAMOO held a concert named "MAMAMOO Concert Moosical: Curtain Call". They released the extended play Purple on June 22, with the title track Yes I Am.
2018[]
On January 18, MAMAMOO released Paint Me, subsequently starting the Four Seasons, Four Colors project. The first EP of the project was Yellow Flower, and it was released on March 7 alongside the single Starry Night. They held a concert on August 18 and 19 titled "MAMAMOO Concert 4Seasons S/S". The second EP of the project was Red Moon, and it was released on July 16 with Egotistic as its title track.
On October 3, they released the Japanese version of Décalcomanie under the Japanese label Victor Entertainment. On October 5, they held their first Japanese concert tour titled "MAMAMOO 1st Concert Tour in Japan"; this was also part of the Four Seasons project. The third installment of the project, BLUE;S, was released on November 29 with the title track Wind Flower.
2019[]
On February 6, they released the Japanese version of Wind Flower. On March 14, the Four Seasons, Four Colors project ended with the EP White Wind and the single gogobebe. From April 19 to 21, they held the concert titled "MAMAMOO Concert 4Seasons F/W". They released the commercial single Gleam on July 24 for Davich Eyeglasses.
MAMAMOO released their first Japanese studio 4colors on August 7. On August 11, they held a Japanese concert titled "MAMAMOO 2nd Concert Tour in Japan: 4season Final" as the final concert of the project. The group then participated in Mnet's Queendom from August 29 to October 31; they performed Décalcomanie, I Miss You, and Destiny, as well as covers of other songs from the other contestants and singers outside the show. On November 14, they released the studio album reality in BLACK with the title track HIP.
2020[]
MAMAMOO released an OST titled "I Miss You" on January 28 for Dr. Romantic 2. On February 19, they released the single Shampoo. Shampoo and the Japanese version of HIP were included in the the Japanese edition of reality in BLACK, released on March 11.
On September 10, MAMAMOO released the advertising single WANNA BE MYSELF for the athleisure brand Andar.
MAMAMOO newest comeback was on November 3, with released the EP TRAVEL and the title track AYA. The EP and single were released at 6 PM KST. TRAVEL's pre-released single, Dingga, was released on October 20, at 6 PM KST.
They also had a comeback show on Mnet, titled MONOLOGUE.
2021[]
On February 3, TRAVEL's Japanese edition was be released. The edition contains three bonus tracks. The first bonus track is Dingga -Japanese ver.-, the MV for the single was released on January 20 at 12 AM JST (January 19, 10 PM KST). The second track, AYA -Japanese ver.-, was released on January 27 at 12 AM JST (January 26, 10 PM KST). The third track is Just Believe In Love.
